Every year, WNY United holds the Leaders in Training (LIT) Showcase event to allow our seventh grade Leaders In Training the opportunity to present their service learning projects to their peers, staff, associates from Rich Products and administration from Buffalo Public Schools. This year’s two day event will be held at Emerson School of Hospitality on May 22 and May 23 and will include LIT teams from Lake Shore, and Buffalo Public Schools # 18, 27, 43, 67, 72, 74, 80, 89, 93, and 95.
The two days will consist of a welcome, and then a "Dear Future Me" activity, where students will write or draw to their future selves about what they are doing today to ensure a healthier tomorrow. This activity corresponds with the National Prevention Week campaign that is currently happening. Next we will have the presentations from each LIT team about their service learning projects, followed by by an etiquette lesson presented by Michelle Burakowski from Modern Charm School.
We are excited for the event and to learn about what our Leaders have been up to!
We will have a full write up next month with all the service learning projects that our Leaders held throughout the year.
Chefs Challenge committee is so excited to announce the amazing chefs who will compete at Chefs Challenge . We can't wait to eat what Chef Mike A. from Seabar and Chef Bryan from Black Iron Bystro and Chef Alex from Lucia's on the Lake will create that night!
