The day starts with an activity where the Leaders In Training created a "Prevention Champion" award for someone they hold in high regard. The students completed the awards and took them back to their schools or home so they can give them to their Prevention Champion. After that, each LIT team presented their Leadership Lessons and their Service Learning Projects to the fellow LIT Teams. This gives the students the chance to overcome their fears of public speaking and using a microphone and they did a great job.
They enjoyed lunch prepared by the students at Emerson High School, and then listened to our keynote speaker Terry Schuta, Principal from South Park High School. Mrs. Schuta talked about the important role each of these students have in the next chapter of their lives now that have started on their leadership path.
The 7th grade LIT teams were from Lake Shore and Buffalo Public Schools # 18, 27, 43, 67, 72, 74, 80, 89, 93, and 95.
